my views
i don’t like to talk about my political views to my friends... i have always been told i am to complex to understand. mostly because people don’t really want to hear the truth anymore, they just want to hear that they are going to be safe. i want everyone to understand... i am against terrorism and usama bin ladin. but i am also against war, violence, and the killing of not just innocent, but all people. i am not a hippie, i do not do drugs, and i am not into free love. i do believe in human rights, and i have learned a lot about other cultures and why people hate America, mostly because i am against what America is becoming with the practice of capitalism. ask me about it, i do not want to write another 5000 words on why i feel this way. anyway... times change, people change. and yes i think change is good ,and change should occur. but in order to make change you have to be heard. in order to be heard you have to be speak up and say something . but the change i want is not your average change. by doing this if you are in my shoes, you start to be called a radical, a revolutionist... right before the wtc bombing i starting writing via email, a guy by the name of stew albert. for those people who don’t know (which is most people who, unless you took a history class on the 60’s like i did), stew is one of the founders of the Yippies or (youth international party)... they where a group of people who really helped put an end to the vietnam war. they where not really hippies, but political activist, who did something about what hippies would only talk about. his co-founders where people like abbie hoffman and allen ginsberg. but it was abbie with the help if stew and his friends that helped stage protest against the war, and organized events like 200,000 people around the pentagon. abbie was also part of the chicago 7, which is another story... anyway, they did really funny things like making people on wall street fight for cash, after dropping money inside the stock exchange. they also ran a pig for president, and set up a free store where they stole from the rich, and gave to the poor.. everything they did, was symbolic in some way and stood for something really important. anyway abbie died awhile back, but stew is still very alive and online a lot. he is pretty cool and has inspired me to keep writing and not listen to what people want me to listen to. to form my own opinion and stand by it. i know the 60’s are over, but i just wish the kids of my generation would stop for a second and start to care about something that matters more than what they are going to do next weekend. there is so much wrong with this country, but the more people ignore the problems the worse they get. don’t get me wrong, i am a very happy person and i am not filled at all with hate. maybe i’ll start writing about all these things i hate, but untill then- i guess you will just have to wait for my book to come out. peace. love. and poetry.
