Monday, 23nd July 2001, 11:27 pm - bragging about music...

(blah, blah, blah) time to brag.i have traveled thousands of miles just to search for the perfect concert, just to find that perfect song. that one that sums up your whole life, or just how you are feeling at the moment. i have driven, flown, taken a bus, train, subway, walked and ran as far as L.A., vegas, and new york city to see some bands i loved, some i hated, and some i have never heard of before, but will never forget after there performance. i don’t know exactly how many bands i have seen before, but i have to say it is over 1000 by now. i have paid way too much, and almost nothing, gotten in free (90% of the time lately) , been backstage, V.I.P. section, private parties, on the guest list, meet and greets, solo performances, acoustic shows, music festivals galore, and shut out of shows. i have ran into bands, sat next to singers, watched bands with other bands, and have had on the spot performances for just whoever is around. i have been to rock/alternative, country, spanish/tejano, blue grass, jazz, blues, classical, alt country, pop, dance/techno/jungle/d.j type, ska, punk, folk, and everything else you can think of. and as i get older, less and less of my friends want to go to concerts. the age seems to stay the same at a lot of shows i go to, but i do not. today for warped tour i was on the list for interscope records. last month at radiohead i was on the list with astrealworks or something like that.i have gotten backstage passes to see weezer twice, once with there record label (geffen), another with tommy boy warped tour this week with intersope.. and have been paid for going to some of those shows and do nothing but watch the bands perform. dom
